We are seeking a Technical Project Manager III (TPM) to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects in a hands-on, high-visibility role that requires technical expertise and cross-functional responsibility.

As a TPM, you must exhibit excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills, and foster open communication across project teams. You will organize and oversee projects from inception to completion, coordinating activities across teams to meet both business and technical objectives. Business needs can change rapidly, so you'll need to stay connected with both internal and external dependencies to ensure high-quality and on-time delivery. In this role, you will work with engineering, operations, corporate, security, and business teams to define project strategy and requirements, manage project metrics, and ensure consistency across the program.

The ideal candidates will develop a deep understanding of our technology, effectively communicate its functionality, and possess the technical depth necessary for success in their role, while also demonstrating a strong commitment to productivity, automation, and innovative thinking for continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Directs large-scale, complex projects often involving multiple matrix partners
• Defines project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders
• Implements and manages initiatives across various platforms
• Effectively communicates project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion, proactively ensuring that teams are "in sync" in terms of communication, schedules, issues, etc.
• Manages mostly high-priority projects in terms of complexity, risk, and/or business criticality while managing multiple projects simultaneously, juggling activities, and prioritizing accordingly
• Identifies, mitigates, prioritizes, manages, and resolves project issues, constraints, dependencies and risks
• Develop and monitor project budget versus actual expenses
• Creates and manages the plan/roadmap, including all project tasks, dependencies, and critical paths
• Champions and serves as a key contributor to the continuous improvement of PM best practices, using innovative ideas to increase the effectiveness of the organization
• Manage project changes to schedule, budget, and scope through change control process
• Facilitate resolution of technical issues including interpreting technical information and present/speak the information to different audiences (business owner, etc.), conveying the message in a way the audience can understand

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years of progressively responsible experience on large-scale software development projects, preferably in a commercial software development environment
• 3+ years of experience directly managing software projects of significant scale and complexity including multiple sub-teams, financial project management, and cross-divisional staff involvement
• Basic understanding of J2EE technologies and distributed architectures
• Experience developing executive dashboards, investment summaries, or portfolio reporting
• Strong facilitation skills and experience coordinating leadership-level reviews and decisions
• Demonstrated experience coordinating complex cross-functional processes involving multiple stakeholders and approval levels
• Experience or background in Requirements Analysis and/or Consulting
• Experience with highly available back-end transaction intensive OLTP type systems and API interfaces

This position is based in our Reston, VA office and offers a hybrid work schedule.

The pay range for the Technical Project Manager III role is $108,900 - $147,300.

The anticipated annual base salary range for these positions is noted above, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience. Verisign offers a discretionary bonus which is based on individual and company performance, and certain roles may be eligible for discretionary stock awards.
