Position Overview
As a Solar Farm Development Project Manager, you will take ownership of all aspects of solar farm development from site selection through shovel-ready status. This is a remote, independent contractor role with compensation tied to performance, structured on a per-project basis or as a percentage of profits.
We’re looking for a seasoned professional who thrives on keeping projects moving forward, has a proven network of trusted professionals, and is passionate about renewable energy.
Key Responsibilities
- Comprehensive Project Management: Oversee and coordinate all aspects of solar farm development after site control, ensuring projects progress quickly to shovel-ready status.
- Vendor Coordination: Manage and align all vendors and professionals involved in the project, ensuring deadlines and milestones are met.
- Site Due Diligence: Conduct and oversee initial site due diligence, ensuring properties meet all technical and regulatory requirements for development.
- Property Evaluation: Assist with selecting the best properties to secure for development based on your expert knowledge of the industry.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with consultants, permitting agencies, and utility representatives to keep projects on track.
- Network Utilization: Leverage your trusted network of professionals to streamline processes and ensure project success.

- Experience: Verified experience managing early-stage solar development projects, particularly community-scale or DG projects under 10 MW.
- Skills: Expertise in initial site evaluation, permitting processes, interconnection, and coordinating with consultants and vendors.
- Drive: A results-oriented professional who can hit the ground running and move projects forward at an accelerated pace.
