Job Summary The Data Center Construction Site Manager oversees the engineering, design, and construction of new production facilities or the modification of existing sites. This role involves anticipating, planning, and coordinating ongoing and future construction requirements. The manager is responsible for technical, logistical, and safety requirements during both pre-construction and construction phases.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Project Procurement: Lead the bidding process, vendor evaluation/selection, and contract negotiations. Compliance & Permitting: Obtain necessary permits, arrange inspections, and ensure all activities meet internal specifications and external regulations. Project Controls: Develop and maintain construction schedules and budgets; provide daily, weekly, and monthly status reports. Vendor Management: Coordinate contractors and subcontractors; manage daily vendor performance and adherence to quality and health/safety standards. Design & Strategy: Lead the development of scheme designs and construction methodologies. Collaborate on general schematics for electrical distribution, cooling, network cabling, and fit-outs. Logistics: Supervise and optimize the reception and storage of material and equipment on-site. Quality Assurance: Manage site project quality control, ensure design amendments are completed, and resolve technical non-conformities.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements Experience: 8+ years of experience in construction site management with multi-technical site experience. Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (or a related field) or equivalent applicable experience. Technical Expertise: Proficiency in one or more of the following: structural, mechanical, cooling, electrical, or BMS (Building Management Systems). Certifications: Electrical certification(s) are preferred. Skills: * Strong ability to collaborate in a team environment.
