Reports to the Medical Director and is responsible for managing and executing one or more health improvement and disease prevention strategies within the constraints of scope, quality, time, and cost to deliver specified requirements and meet customer satisfaction. This person will design, develop, and deliver wellness products, programs, and services for customers throughout the Hopkins enterprise. The Project Manager will provide leadership, and support, and will collaborate with other Johns Hopkins Medicine affiliates to implement or improve other workplace wellness programs. This position will be a highly visible component of JHM wellness initiatives and must be able to promote health behaviors and project a positive and supportive image of workplace wellness.

Education: Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Health Promotion, Health Care Administration, Public Health, or a closely related field.

Knowledge & Skills: Requires knowledge of current and emerging healthcare trends, health behavior/education principles, population health, and prevention. Must have knowledge of best practices in workplace wellness. Must have experience with or be able to demonstrate knowledge of improving a workplace culture of health. Requires a basic understanding of project management principles.

Goal-oriented and action-focused, pragmatic and self-disciplined, and organized with ability to lead, facilitate, and interact effectively with all levels of staff. Ability to plan, organize, direct, implement, and evaluate processes to lead people and manage resources to achieve desired results. Must have excellent communication and presentation skills to communicate effectively with decision-makers. Requires analytical skills to evaluate the results of interventions and apply outcomes to the wellness program. Requires skill in influencing others to make positive behavior change. Strong organizational skills are required to execute a variety of activities across the JHM enterprise. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office.


Required Licensure, Certification: Health Education, Wellness, and/or Project Management certifications preferred.

Experience: Requires a minimum of five years of project management experience, preferably in a managed care and/or health system setting. Must have a minimum of five years of experience in the development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of health and productivity initiatives aimed toward improving the health status of a population in the work/employer setting.
